Recently voted Altavista's Favorite Hair Salon, Mitchell's has been Altavista's premiere location for trend-setting styles for more than 50 years. Founded by Mildred Mitchell in the 60's as Mitchell's Beauty Salon, Monica took ownership in 1973.  Gwen joined the salon as Master Colorist and Designer in 2009, and assumed ownership in April of  2011, changing the name to Mitchell's Salon on 7th.

We are proud of our long tradition of excellence, and strive to remain ahead of the trends by participating in continuing education classes and training seminars both as student and instructor.  From a simple bang trim to a complicated color correction you can be assured that our designers have the knowledge and skill to custom craft a look that will enhance your personal style and exceed your exacting standards.

Besides exceeding your expectations with talent and service you wouldn't expect in such a small town, we also want you to have fun and enjoy the experience while you are here!  We have completed our 3-year process of renovating the salon and further enhancing the "Vegas in the 50's" Lounge vibe.  Vintage styling chairs, reclining shampoo units, state-of-the-art color lab and LED lighting systems have been installed to enhance your experience.

Mitchell's services and atmosphere rival those found in the better salons of our surrounding cities yet we keep our prices in line with those of our small town.  Book an appointment online or by phone, and come experience the difference between ordinary and extraordinary.  We'll always send you home feeling happy, relaxed, satisfied, and above all, PRETTY.
